About SAGE

The SAGE Mission is to engage curious and passionate students, and empower them to explore a wide range of possibilities for their future.

Hosted by professional leaders who share their passion for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), SAGE builds community, fosters innovation, and sets students on a path to exciting careers, like those they’ll learn about at the Department of Energy’s National Laboratories.

SAGE Volunteers make the SAGE Journey unique, one-of-a-kind.

Scientists, engineers, and staff at the Department of Energy Laboratories are invited to volunteer and participate. By sharing your time and talent, you can be part of a student’s SAGE Journey. The SAGE Journey has the potential to change lives and the trajectory of students who otherwise might not consider careers in STEM.

There are many ways to help: from backroom planning and logistics prep, to actual camp hosting and having conversations with students. If you are interested in volunteering, please see the Summer Camps page, and click on the camp you are interested in. There you will find the appropriate contact information.

In conjunction with the Department of Energy National Laboratories, SAGE aims to broaden gender diversity in STEM and foster creativity and innovation for continued scientific and technological leadership.

SAGE promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion and seeks to eliminate barriers that are based on gender, race, national origin, ethnicity, age, religion, sexual orientation, disability, handicap, or intelligence.
